HIGHLIGHT GRANT OF THE MONTH

Philadelphia Small Business Catalyst Fund

Overview

The Catalyst Fund is a $5 million city-backed grant program designed to accelerate the growth of small businesses in Philadelphia.

This is non-dilutive funding (no repayment, no equity), paired with long-term business support.

  • Up to $50,000 per business

    Based on revenue:

    • <$50K revenue → ~$10,000

    • $50K–$100K → ~$25,000

    • $100K–$2M → ~$50,000

  • To qualify, businesses must:

    • Be located in Philadelphia

    • Generate under $2 million in revenue

    • Be registered and licensed with the city

    • Be up to date on taxes (or on a payment plan)

    • Show a clear growth or expansion plan

    • Demonstrate economic impact (jobs, community impact)

    👉 This is NOT for startups with no traction—it’s for growth-ready businesses.

  • The city is prioritizing:

    • Business growth potential

    • Job creation and local impact

    • Expansion strategy (not survival)

    • Resilience and innovation

    • Ability to use funds strategically

  • Approved uses include:

    • Marketing and advertising

    • Inventory and expansion

    • Equipment and operational growth investments

    • Rent

    • Payroll

    • Debt or past-due bills

    • Real estate acquisition

    • Access to CDFI partners

    • Business consulting and technical assistance

    • Up to 3 years of support

SCALE

Learn how to communicate for growth. This course focuses on aligning your messaging, systems, and delivery so your operations, offers, and outreach are positioned to expand and perform at a higher level.

This is just the beginning. As the program expands, additional courses will be released to deepen your understanding of Purpose, Narrative, and Scale—moving from foundational clarity into advanced execution, systems, and long-term growth strategy.

All sessions are part of a structured learning environment. As a member, you’ll have access to past recordings, course materials, and any future releases—allowing you to revisit sessions, reinforce key concepts, and continue building at your own pace.

Right now, we are operating in a live, active class format as we launch this next phase. This means real-time conversations, direct feedback, and immediate application. Over time, this will evolve into a full library of content and resources you can tap into whenever needed.

    Working closely with community residents and small business owners, we have developed a new model for increasing neighborhood control. It is focused on fueling the Kensington Avenue corridor as an economic engine that can drive stability and economic prosperity in the neighborhood.
